Your Guide to Downtown Buford Fall Events and Restaurants

October 15, 2026

"Due to the anticipated weather impacts of Hurricane Isaias in the Buford area this weekend, the City of Buford has made the decision to postpone the Brantley Gilbert concert scheduled for Saturday, October 10th. The concert has been rescheduled for Friday, October 23rd."

That notice went up on the Buford Community Center's event page on October 9. With the move, the free show joined a pattern the rest of the season already followed. Most of downtown Buford's late-fall entertainment is booked by the city, at one address, and it falls mostly on Friday nights. Dinner on those nights still comes from the established Main Street restaurants. Neither of the newer spots announced for the corner of West Main has confirmed an opening.

Below are the dates, where each event happens, and which kitchens are confirmed to be cooking around them.

One Address Holds Most of the Season

The Buford Community Center lists its street address as 2200 Buford Hwy. Its website treats the outdoor Concert Lawn and the indoor Sylvia Beard Theatre as separate venues on that campus. In practice, a free outdoor show and a ticketed theater night share a parking lot, a ticket office and a calendar.

Here is how the next eight weeks look, counted from October 12, 2026:

  1. Friday, October 23: Brantley Gilbert on the Concert Lawn. Admission is free. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m.
  2. Saturday, October 24: "Don't Be Cruel," an Elvis tribute show, at the Sylvia Beard Theatre. Curtain is at 8 p.m. and tickets run $35 to $45 through the city's ticketing page.
  3. Friday, November 6: Larry Gatlin at the Sylvia Beard Theatre. The show starts at 8 p.m., with tickets at $35 to $45. The city bills it as a one-night performance built around the stories behind the Gatlin Brothers' songs.
  4. Friday, November 13: "We've Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered" at the Sylvia Beard Theatre. It also starts at 8 p.m., with the same $35 to $45 range.
  5. Saturday, November 21, and Sunday, November 22: Art-Tiques Vintage Market's holiday market. The organizer lists it at Buford Town Center, 2200 Buford Hwy NE, the same street address the Community Center uses. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
  6. Saturday, December 5: Buford Holiday Festival and Parade. The listing runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a parade, live performers, food trucks, vendors and family activities, presented by the Buford Business Alliance.

The theater pages give each show's month and day but no year, so check the city's ticketing page before buying. For Art-Tiques, the Community Center's own event page still shows older November 15 to 17 dates with no year attached. The organizer's 2026 page gives November 21 and 22. For the holiday parade, the Explore Gwinnett listing names the Buford Community Center as the venue but gives the address as 304 East Main St. That doesn't match the Community Center's own 2200 Buford Hwy address, so confirm where the parade staging and vendor area will actually be before choosing where to park.

The city's October calendar page, meanwhile, lists commission, planning commission and variance hearings. It does not list a downtown Halloween or trunk-or-treat event. Through Thanksgiving, the theater and the lawn carry the evenings.

Three of Those Nights Are Fridays

Three of the six events fall on Fridays: the rescheduled concert on October 23, then Gatlin and the Carpenters tribute on November 6 and 13. That affects dinner planning, because several Main Street kitchens keep different hours on different days.

The theater shows all start at 8 p.m., which leaves time for a sit-down meal on Main Street first. The lawn concert runs differently. Gates open at 5:30 for a 7 p.m. start, so the meal comes before the gates open or after the encore.

Dinner Before an 8 O'Clock Curtain

These are the downtown Main Street restaurants whose own sites or booking pages show current hours or recent activity:

  • Aqua Terra Bistro, 55 East Main Street. Its site lists lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and cocktails, with hours posted for all seven days. That makes it the safe pick for the Sunday afternoon of the Art-Tiques market.
  • Bare Bones Steakhouse, 101 E. Main St. Bare Bones takes dinner reservations and describes a lounge plus private event space. Its reservations matter most on the three Friday theater nights, when a fixed 8 p.m. curtain leaves no room for a long wait.
  • Rico's World Kitchen, 306 W Main Street. Rico's lists Tuesday through Saturday hours, and its site was still posting specials as recently as one labeled for Friday, October 10th. Every theater date on the list falls inside its open days. The Sunday half of the holiday market does not.
  • Sperata, 9 East Main Street. Sperata's booking listing shows dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. daily, but the restaurant doesn't take reservations through that network. Call ahead to confirm hours before planning a show night around it.

Explore Gwinnett's Buford page also lists Italian Pizza Pie at 39 E Main Street NE, Off The Rails Mexican Cantina at 107 E Main Street NE and 37 Main, A Rock Café, at 37 E Main St NE. The research for this post did not confirm their current hours, so check before heading over.

The newest restaurant in the mix sits off Main Street. Xochitl Mexican Restaurant at 33 Buford Village Way, Suite 311, was in its soft opening in March 2026, according to Business Debut, which reported that its patio faces the city event lawn. Its online ordering page lists hours of 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. On a Friday, that leaves time for a meal after an 8 p.m. show lets out, at least on paper.

The Corner Marked Coming Soon

Two concepts announced for 1 W Main St. would add the most new options for a pre-show dinner, and neither has confirmed an opening.

Sip-N-Chew Rooftop, a Caribbean-fusion restaurant and lounge planned for Suite 1, still shows "Grand Opening Coming Soon" on its own website, and its menu is also listed as coming soon. Next door in Suite 3, Chicks N Boba was planned as a fried chicken and boba shop. What Now Atlanta reported in December 2025 that the opening timeline was unclear, though the owners were aiming for spring. Business Debut put the opening at three to four months after final utilities and city approvals. The research for this post found no 2026 report confirming that the shop opened, and the brand's current website is a minimal landing page with no hours or ordering.

Until either one confirms an opening, plans for a downtown evening this season depend on the restaurants listed above.

When the Evening Leaves Downtown

The city campus doesn't cover everything. Two outside calendars fill some of the gaps, and one of them overlaps a theater night.

Out on Bennett Road, Buford Corn Maze opened its Scream Zone Haunted Forest on September 25 at dark, running Fridays through Sundays, at 4470 Bennett Rd. The farm's separate hours page still says it is closed for the season, but that page dates to December 2025. The current fall 2026 ticket page is the one to go by.

Up the lake, Lanier Islands Resort's Songwriter Festival runs November 13 to 15. Performances are spread across the resort, including Peachtree Pointe Amphitheatre and the Venetian Pier, and a three-day pass is listed at $129. Its opening night lands on the same Friday as the Carpenters tribute at the Sylvia Beard Theatre. Anyone hoping to catch both will have to pick one for Friday or save the festival for the weekend.

The resort's holiday light drive-through starts November 20 and runs through January 3, 2027, according to the Lake Lanier Association's events calendar. It opens the night before the Art-Tiques market's Saturday, so a market morning at 2200 Buford Hwy and an evening drive through the lights can share one weekend.

Gary and Trevor Nix of Georgia Real Estate Depot follow the Buford calendar the same way neighbors do, from the Concert Lawn schedule to the "coming soon" signs on West Main.
